DAVE ROGERSBorn in London in 1941. After studying architecture, worked for a well-known architectural practice in the West End, and then specialising in various activities concerned with windows and solar control, blinds etc. In 1978 set up in business on own account making awnings, flags, banners, sails and boat covers. Moved to Braunston in 1995 to spend more time promoting his pastel and charcoal pictures of boats and waterway scenes. Dave and his wife spend as much time as possible boating in their narrowboat 'Siberia' and sailing their gaffer 'Peggy'. Other interests: folk music and stringed instruments, coastal barges and traditional fishing fleets. A member of Guild of Waterway artists, he is interested in all aspects of inland and coastal waterways, their history and architecture. Dave exhibits around the country images of his work have been commissioned for publication by the waterways press, and he has undertaken various artworks for organisations and societies connected to the waterways .
